Octopus Film Festival is a festival of genre cinema, which has been held in Gdańsk since 2018. The festival draws on the idea of site-specific screenings, presenting films in unique places (former shipyard halls, outdoor locations) and circumstances, which reminds viewers of how unique a film screening can be.

In 2020, the Octopus Film Festival was one of the few Polish festivals that took place fully stationary.

Since 2020, the Audience Award in the Main Competition of the festival has been awarded.

In 2022, the „Atramentous Tentacle” award for lifetime achievement was awarded for the first time. The award went to the Italian director Enzo G. Castellari.
