“Hope” is the closing film of the 9th… edition of the Octopus Film Festival

The latest film by Na Hong-jin, director of the cult classic “Lament,” is one of the most anticipated and talked-about titles at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Its official Polish premiere will take place during the 9th the Octopus Film Festival, where “Welcome to Hope” will be screened as the closing film.

“Hope” marks the director’s spectacular return to feature-length filmmaking and is also the most expensive production in the history of Korean cinema. Na Hong-jin combines his unique vision with the grandeur of a full-scale blockbuster, creating a spectacle that straddles the genres of thriller, space horror, and epic science fiction. The production impresses not only with the scale of the project but also with its international cast, which includes Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander.

Since its premiere at Cannes, the film has been receiving rave reviews and is being hailed as a fresh, bold alternative to Hollywood blockbusters made according to tried-and-true formulas. Critics highlight the film’s impressive narrative pace, which ensures that the nearly three-hour screening remains an intense, suspenseful experience from start to finish.

The screening of “Welcome to Hope” will be the first opportunity for Polish audiences to see one of the year’s most talked-about films on the big screen. Monolith Films is the Polish distributor of the film. “Hope” will be released in Polish cinemas this fall.
