OPEN CALL: Octopus Shorts 2026!

Submissions for the Octopus Shorts 2026 competition open on March 1!

Do you love genre cinema? Do you create films that explore its boundaries and aren’t afraid to experiment? Octopus Shorts – the International Short Film Competition – returns as part of the 9th edition of the Octopus Film Festival (August 11–16, 2025)!

We’re looking for comedies, sci-fi, fantasy, horror, gore, action films, and experiments everything that fits within the broad spectrum of genre cinema. Films must not exceed 30 minutes.

The best productions will be screened on the big screen in Gdańsk and evaluated by an international jury, and the winner will take home a cash prize!
